5th December 2024
PRESS RELEASE
The National Executives of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) are appalled by recent claims made by Philip Kwabena Agyemang, popularly known as Roman Fada. In a media interview, he was heard falsely denying the existence of the GFP's legitimate leadership and denouncing the party’s press conference held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, where we unanimously endorsed H.E. John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the upcoming December 7 elections.
We categorically state that Philip Kwabena Agyemang, alias Roman Fada, is NOT the leader of the Ghana Freedom Party. His self-styled representation as such is both misleading and baseless. The GFP remains steadfast under its lawful leadership, guided by the party’s constitution and structure.
GFP's Leadership Clarified
Following the unfortunate passing of our esteemed founder and flagbearer, Madam Akua Donkor, the party's constitution mandates the National Chairman to act as the party's leader in the absence of a presidential candidate. Accordingly, Mr. Seth Tawiah, the Acting National Chairman, has assumed leadership and will oversee the party’s affairs until a new flagbearer is elected to lead GFP into future elections.
Philip Kwabena Agyemang’s appointment as a running mate by our late founder did not yield the desired results for the GFP, and since then, he has been nothing more than a disruptive figure within the party. His actions are self-serving and divisive, as he seeks to exploit the party’s achievements for personal gain.
GFP's Position on the Upcoming Elections
The Ghana Freedom Party reaffirms its unanimous endorsement of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in the December 7 elections. We urge all Ghanaians to treat Roman Fada’s baseless assertions with the contempt they deserve.
We call on all voters to:
Vote massively for H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC to secure a brighter future for Ghana.
Support GFP parliamentary candidates nationwide to help build a strong and vibrant Parliament capable of delivering meaningful development.
Let there be no confusion—Roman Fada does not speak for or represent the Ghana Freedom Party. The GFP remains united, committed, and focused on advancing the collective aspirations of Ghanaians.
Long Live the Ghana Freedom Party! Long Live Ghana!
