The strategist, amiable, and smart Lawmaker, Hon. Sammi Awuku, who represents the good people of Akwapim North Constituency, admonished and inspired the youth, especially from the Northern Region, to come together to shape the destiny and future of the NPP.
On TOLON RADIO 102.7 with an exclusive interaction with the host, Mr. Abdul Shakur Omae, on the new program Christened Ghana Chandi, which was done through a Zoom interaction on Monday, July 28, 2025.
During the interaction, a lot of questions were posed to the astute lawmaker who is a first timer in Parliament and has been through the mill when it comes to Ghana's Political architecture and in real-life situations.
Questions range from the defeat of the Party, the rebuilding process, lessons learned, the Ablekuma North rerun, the National Delegates Conference, and the message of hope for the youth of the Party in the Northern Region and beyond.
Mr. Sammi Awuku smartly and carefully answered the relevant questions posed to him by Mr Omae, particularly the defeat of the Party, and he explained in detail the need for all Party faithful to put what happened behind them and forge ahead with a united and viable front.
In response to the current rebuilding process of the Party, Mr. Sammi Awuku was full of hope for the steps taken so far about the reforms from the polling station, Constituency, regional to the National level, especially the decision to conduct the Party's Presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.
He stated that once the decision was taken by the second-highest decision-making body of the Party and adopted by the conference, it is incumbent on every true patriot to support the leadership of the Party for a successful primary.
On the issue of lessons learned, Hon. Sammi Awuku highlighted some of the happenings in the Country under the NDC government and the barbaric nature of which the Ablekuma North Constituency rerun was conducted, and the mayhem visited on members of the NPP.
He used the opportunity to call on all members of the Party to unite and forgive one another and come together to work in unison to recapture power in the 2028 election.
At the National Delegates Conference held on July 19, 2025, Mr. Awuku commended the orderly manner in which the whole conference was organised by the leadership of the Party, Planning Committee, and Constitutional amendments committee for a successful conference.
Mr. Awuku answered a controversial question on the assertion that one Presidential aspirant was favoured by being given access to the inner perimeter of the Sports stadium, which raised eyebrows on fairness and a level playing field for all.
Mr. Sammi Awuku acknowledged the important role played by all those showing interest in leading the ,NPP but made it vividly clear that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the Former Vice President and Former Flagbearer for the Party in the 2024 elections.
He explained further by stating in principle, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia enjoyed what past Former Presidents and Flagbearers were treated and by extension, the same erudite Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia went through with his speech to delegates.
As we all know, particularly when it comes to experience and expertise, Mr. Sammi Awuku served the NPP as Former National Youth Organiser and Former National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom).
A staunch member of the NPP, Mr. Sammi Awuku has demonstrated a compelling leadership of strong character, fortitude, and intellectual prowess. He has gained much respect from the youth of the Party from every nook and cranny of the Country.
This has propelled him to where he is a representative for the good people of the AKuapem North Constituency after serving the Party with great dedication, commitment, and genuine conviction towards work.
Furthermore, Hon. Sammi Awuku, with a question from the host on the message to the youth of the NPP in the Northern Region. He used the opportunity to admonish the Party youth to come together by working collaboratively towards shaping their destiny and the future of the Party.
He acknowledged the significant contributions of the youth of the Party, and he couldn't mince words by mentioning the Kandahar boys and other vibrant youth groups who have sacrificed for the forward march of NPP.
Mr. Awuku also stated, "There comes a time when we should ask for what we can do for the Party and not what the Party can do for us. True patriots are those who work with full commitment and unstoppable diligence.
"And indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves" (Holy Qur'an 13:11). He used this important verse in the Holy Quran to buttress a point to all Party youth to work hard for the blessings of Allah.
In his concluding remarks, Hon. Sammi Awuku stated he will soon touch down in the Northern Region once the internal contest starts to engage with party patriots, particularly TOLON RADIO 102.7.
