As a young politician, I have keenly observed and monitored the current happenings in Ghana's political enterprise. Many astute politicians have come and made an impact in the lives of people and the overall development of the Country.
Objectively, a leader who has shown an indispensable example is the venerable Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a leader par excellence with positive impact and integrity.
Leadership by example is not just in name but it comes with lots of actionable and deliverable experience of unparalleled character of positive attributes that inspire others to follow.
This important epistle will detail why Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leads with example, positive impact, and integrity since his emergence in the Country's political and economic development.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as he was described as the man of destiny by the trailblazer, the Former President John Agyekum Kufour, has exhibited a high level of emotional intelligence anchored on positive impact and integrity.
In real-life situations, character is what makes you worth following, and again, a person's character determines his or her direction. However, the focus will be on the character that attracts people to one's circle as a political leader.
I will highlight the three most interactive points to buttress this piece, i.e, the great example, positive impact, and integrity of the Former Vice President, and Former Flagbearer of the NPP.
To begin with, particularly on a great example, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is organically loved, celebrated, and accepted widely, not because he is superhuman, but because he learned fast and leads with an enviable example as a Political figure.
His personal attributes alone speak volumes when it comes to emotional intelligence, openness, kindness, respect, generosity, smartness, tact, humility, self-awareness, resilience, tenacity, fortitude, and intellectual prowess that are second to none.
The above undoubtedly set him apart from his peers as a unique and deep-thinking political leader within the Party and outside the Party. A persona with rapport and synergy with all manner of people.
In addition, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a true servant and authentic leader who prioritizes the needs of people first and creates a conducive and healthy environment for all to be involved.
In fact, leading is about service to the people and not being served. A rare privilege to influence others positively to feel valued and respected in the line of duty.
As the saying goes " Great leaders are not best at everything. They find people who are best at different things and get them all on the same team". This is a classical case of leadership of involvement and opportunities.
The man of the moment, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been through the mill, and he has learned through thick and thin to where he is today. His experience has allowed him to believe in giving opportunities to all to be part of decision-making.
He is a rare character when it comes to innovative, pragmatic, and rich ideas which have made a positive impact in the lives of people, but he has been magnanimous and listened to divergent views through his free engagement with the young ones.
I called him, a generational thinker, a political leader whose doors are open for inclusiveness and diversity of ideas and policies that resonate with the overall development and empowerment of the people.
Fast forward to the positive impact made in the lives of Party patriots and citizens. We all can attest to the fact that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's impactful policies inure to the benefit of all. A transformational leader who has championed over 33 policies and deserves a standing ovation.
In highlighting some of the laudable initiatives and innovative policies that bear the right fruits and are impactful when it comes to human development and the socioeconomic development of the Nation.
Some of these innovative policies are the Gold purchase programme, Zipline Drone medical delivery, No Guarantor student loan with Ghana Card, one Constituency one Ambulance, E Pharmacy, Mobile money interoperability, NHIS Renewal with a short code, Agenda 111, Gold for Oil policy, and Ghana Card number at birth for newborns.
Realistically, no one can deny the fact that some of the above-mentioned have played a pivotal role in one way or the other in transforming and contributing meaningfully to the development of the Country. All these as a result of the phenomenal leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to Ed Stetzer, "Leadership is something you learn, not something you step into." This is a guiding principle of the successes chalked up by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the courage in learning about being a strategic, empowering, and innovative leader.
He has learned with a great sense of genuine respect and tact in his political career and it has shaped and positioned him as a well-marketed, experienced, and acceptable leader in the Party and the Nation at large.
Leadership with integrity, in conclusion, plays an enormous role when it comes to acceptability and demonstrable resilience in the political landscape. The generous-spirited Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia irrespective of leading with an unstoppable example, positive impact also continued to live with integrity and a vision.
He remains the mainstay and formidable force to reckon with internally and externally. The obvious choice to lead the NPP to the 2028 election.
